"[To Montessori ONE teacher Ms. Sarita] We will never forget the amazing work you do with all the children at Montessori ONE. Thank you for teaching Greyson and Aidan the foundation for their future education. We have been blessed as a family to share our children and felt as if you are an extension of our family for the unconditional love you provide our boys. We pray that we will find another Ms. Sarita, but we know there can only be one as special as you - a gift from God! We love you - and thank you for teaching us patience with our children."

"I want to take this opportunity to tell all of you how much you have meant to our family. You have helped us shape our little ladies into kind hearted, responsible little individuals who have an understanding of the world and other cultures around them - and we will never forget that gift you've given us!! They would not be the people they are today without all of YOU. . . Miss Tina ~ I beg of you, please get [grades] 1-6 open ASAP!!!! The Chavez girls will be back as soon as you do. Even if it's mid-semester! I'm serious!!!!!"

Montessori ONE Academy has set the standard for what preschool education can be and for what can be accomplished when a parent invests in early education. This school provides children a solid foundation on which to stand for the rest of their academic careers. Most importantly, it is staffed with teachers that take ownership over children’s education and pride themselves on the success they achieve in the classroom. This type of attention is critical at this stage of development to create children that are confident and passionate about learning. My oldest son attended Montessori One when it first opened.
He is now flourishing in the 3rd grade. We moved out of state when he was 4 and failed to find a school that compared to Montessori One for our youngest son. We were fortunate enough to move back to New Mexico, now our youngest son has the opportunity to attend the amazing school. Blessed to have found it!

"My wife and I enrolled our three year old son in the program at Montessori ONE halfway through the academic year, depressed and discouraged by his experience in another school where he had suffered for want of stimulation, for want of the nurturing structure of a genuine Montessori program. In less than a week at Montessori ONE we had our old boy back -- and more, much more! He was talking and singing and teaching us yoga. He was excited about school again, eager each day to reunite with his teachers and classmates.
Since then, we have been deeply impressed by the professionalism of both [Montessori ONE Director] Tina Patel and her teachers, by the depth of their training, and by their obvious love of children. One has only to see the building itself to appreciate the scope of Tina's vision for the school. The instant one crosses the threshold there one feels at peace, at home."

"I wanted to send you a note of appreciation for the opportunity to learn about the "how and why" behind what [toddler lead teacher] Jodi is doing in her classroom. She has always been helpful with ideas and advice to help me communicate better with Riley when I've expressed challenges we've faced.
We've incorporated a lot of [classroom routine] into our home life in an effort to make Riley's world consistent and give her the same opportunities for independence and learning at home as she has at school. For example, just as Riley removes her outdoor shoes and puts her slippers on for class, she also puts her outdoor shoes in a cubby when she gets home. She hangs her jacket up and empties her lunch box contents into the sink and throws away any trash. Even though it takes a little longer to get things done, Riley loves to help and helps load and unload the dishwasher, feed the dogs (including pouring water into their bowls with a pitcher) and clears her plate, utensils and cup after dinner and placing them in the sink. A little extra patience on my part is a very small sacrifice in return for the sense of accomplishment she gets from "helping".
Never would I have thought a 2 year old was capable of this level of responsibility and independence prior to seeing what she has accomplished in your school. Thank you, to you and Jodi. I realize that both of us attend and learn from your school and I look forward to participating in future opportunities you provide parents to learn more about your approach."

"Thank you so much for allowing [our son] to attend your magnificent school. I'm so pleased with how he has developed over the past few years. Your teachers and staff are great! Also, thank you for always listening with an open ear and for all the advice you have given us!"

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for how amazing you've been to Dylan these past three years. Mrs. Angela has been a true blessing in our lives, her genuine concern not only for our son but every child in her classroom is very clear and evident day in and day out. I can wholeheartedly say that you have an incredible and well-run school. My family is extremely appreciative and thankful for the service you and every staff member have provided Dylan."

"Thank you so very much for your love and support over the years. What you do for the kids in your school is truly amazing. I am so appreciative of the patience and understanding you've shown to us and I know that what Nori has gained here will help her throughout her life. Thank you!
"Thank you for making our son's days fun, educational, and meaningful. We are comforted knowing he is in an environment that he enjoys and with people who care. Here is a small gift of appreciation for the daily gifts of knowledge you give him."

"What a privilege it is for my twin boys to attend Monstessori ONE. I'm consistently and deeply impressed with the degree of steadfast, loving, and encouraging guidance my boys receive here. The classrooms are uncluttered, full of natural light, plants and flowers, and natural wood, and the children move through the space with purpose, focus, and smiles. The teachers are helpful and kind, and I never feel judged, even when I've forgotten the boys' lunches! Hey, it happens with twins!"

"It would be easy to put a monetary value to your gift to us, but that would not include the tremendous value of the education that you are giving to [our son]. The depth and extent of everything he [is learning] is not something you can put a price tag on! We are so excited for him, and can't wait to watch him flourish. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Montessori ONE is a rare AUTHENTIC montessori program, and its director, Tina Patel, runs it like a business, where the parents and the kids are the customers! Love that! She has a passion for instilling a love of learning in the kids. Visit and you will see what a special place it is.

"Adam and I are so pleased with how well Luke has done this year. The work you have done with him to build his trust and self-confidence, his ability to make friends and interact with his peers is extraordinary. We commend your tireless effort! Our family feels so lucky to have you [Mr. Farren] as Luke's teacher. We think that you have demonstrated a deep knowledge of the Montessori Method and you have really helped us to see its benefits. I have never seen Luke hug any of his teachers before! The other day when you sat down next to him at his cubby and he leaned over and hugged you was monumental to me. Thank you for teaching our son and giving him the freedom of choice and independence!"

This is a very organized school! They promote healthy eating which is awesome because kids can always find enough sugar in fruits. Tina and Falguni have always been really helpful and all of the staff are dedicated. The staff is very polite and the most important part, my 2 year old LOVES going and cant stop talking about all she did each day:) I've noticed a real growth in her from all aspects; from feeding herself to wearing her own socks and shoes, she has really developed hand-eye coordination and those fine skills you use in daily life. Academically, she is quite advanced for her age, and i love that they challenge the kids but don't force them. Each kid goes at their own pace and can choose the work they want to do. My daughter loves to count everything and 'reads' books although all she is doing is making up her own story based on the pictures :) ..but hey, for a 2 year old that's a great start!

…My child currently attends the school and is scheduled to graduate this year. The academic levels are extremely high and I have to say that my child has progressed very well. Whilst I am sure all teachers offer the same level of education and teachings, I have to limit my comments to Ms. Sarita. She is perhaps the finest teacher I have ever met, and the students in her class reflect that. My child has been in her class for over 3 years and I have to say that "amazing" as a word does not do justice to how great she is.

We have had our daughter there about a year. We have been very happy with her teachers and Tina. It's everything we hoped for in a school and we look forward to our son starting this summer. Thank you to all at Montessori One!

Montessori ONE is a fantastic place for children to grow. My wife and I had no idea of the intricacies of the Montessori Method and have been absolutely thrilled by the progress that our children have made under the care of Tina Patel, Director, and her staff. My children have learned everything from life skills, such as cleaning and preparing food to the fundamentals of the sciences and arts. I have recommended this establishment to a number of my friends and colleagues as I am confident that when my children graduate, they will be prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
A question most parents struggle with early on is the question of child care. When my husband and I were faced with this decision as our daughter approached her first birthday and I needed to return to work, the process of finding a preschool felt daunting and overwhelming. We wanted the time our daughter spent away from us to be spent in an environment that was supportive, affirming and challenging. We didn’t want a daycare; we wanted a school. We visited many programs in Albuquerque, and I left each one feeling disappointed and wondering if I should just quit my job and stay home with my daughter.
Then we discovered Montessori One Preschool Academy.
When you observe a classroom at Montessori One, you observe a unique child-centered environment. You see a collaborative partnership between the expertise of the child and the guidance of the teacher, passionate educators like Sarita and Jodi who have an understanding of every child’s individual development and who have done so much to foster our girls’ growing independence and potential:
Teachers bend down to talk with children in respectful and calm ways; children are self-directing their behavior to choose activities that they are interested in learning more about and then settling into their own space to focus on their work; children are concentrating as they work to figure something out and smiling with the celebration of developing competence in sounding out a word or figuring out the answer to an addition problem; teachers are not rushing over to provide the answer, instead respecting the process of allowing the child to teach him/herself. What you see is a positive interpersonal atmosphere where children are excited about learning. What more could we ask for, as parents, than to know that our children are in a respectful and warm environment and are being offered rich opportunities to research and explore their interest in and excitement about a myriad of subjects.
The Montessori philosophy recognizes that the process of learning and growth occurs through evocation rather than installation. The message I have witnessed through seeing the interactions between teacher and students is, “you have what you need and together we will bring it forth.” In this style, the teachers are not so much the author of learning so much as a witness to its emergence.
Knowing that our children are in this stimulating environment during the day and seeing the incredible social and educational growth resulting from the time spent at Montessori One fills me with overwhelming gratitude. As we prepare to move to Arizona and all of our important things are being carefully wrapped and boxed, I only wish there was a box big enough to hold Montessori One.

My son started at Montessori One about 2 months ago. He was 18 months old which is a tough age to start school. Both Ms Tina Patel and his teachers handled him (and me!) very well and my son settled down very quickly. I could not be happier with the professionalism, nurturing atmosphere and flexibility of both the staff and the director of this school. I also completely disagree with another reviewer who states that children are pushed academically at this school. I have two older children and anyone who knows about child development can tell you that children are naturally curious and can grasp many concepts (such as division) a lot earlier than most traditional schools will have you believe. In conclusion, I feel very comfortable with this school and appreciate the information I was given.

Montessori is not for everyone. But if you are looking for an exceptional education for your child Montessori one is the place to be. The staff is held to high standards, with great educational backgrounds, and the director, Tina Patel, works hard at covering every aspect of running a school. The school is based upon work, but during the summers the school offers cultural experiences that most children this age are not exposed to. It is an AMAZING school if you are looking for an academic environment for your child and to prepare them for their many years in school. Research says that this age is the most significant for children, and that they are like sponges at this young of an age.

I initially toured this facility when my son was 15 months old, and the director was kind enough to allow me to bring a friend that is a certified Montessori Instructor. I was just learning about the Montessori theory and was impressed with the willingness of the director and staff to help me learn and understand the theory (as was my friend). My son transitioned to Montessori One from an in-home day care environment at 18 months, and despite severe separation, his transition was relatively smooth. At nearly 3 years old now, he is thriving and I continue to feel that the staff are open in communicating his daily routine and helping us with extending aspects of Montessori theory into our home. IF YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR JUST A DAY CARE or someone that is going to care for your child more than 40 hours/week, this is probably not the place for your child...this is truly an educational facility that offers child care beyond school hours.

Hands down, the best Preschool in the Q!! All 3 of my daughters attend Montessori ONE. One of my daughter's has a developmental delay, which the wonderful staff at Montessori ONE helped us identify. They worked to help compliment the Child Find public school program she was enrolled in, but more importantly, truly worked to understand how to help her excel. Mrs. Sarita truly changed our daughter's life with her nurturing and caring approach. Our twins will graduate kindergarten this year knowing multiplication, division, fractions, cursive handwriting, all their continents, I could go on and on! But it's not all about academics at Montessori ONE - the difference in this school is they teach kindness and respect in a nurturing environment. And the kids have FUN while learning. You really need to take a tour and see for yourself – you’ll be amazed at what you see the kiddo’s doing. I can't wait until Mrs. Tina opens up 1-6 grade - my girls will be the first ones enrolled =)

First you are captivated by the brand new, bright, state-of-the-art facility itself. Then you are captivated by the director, Tina Patel, and her obvious passion for children, for education, and for using design and environment to enhance the "Prepared Environment" which is a cornerstone of the Montessori approach to education. If you happen to come by for a tour at the right time, you may even catch a glimpse of the preschool yoga class!
