The Environment

Education starts at birth.

- Dr. Maria Montessori

Environment plays a vital role in Montessori methodology. Montessori finds that when children are placed in a calm, safe, nurturing environment that is also easily accessible, the natural outcome is confident, inquisitive, independent, and joyful learners.

The Nido features two classrooms with an adjoining door, lots of natural light, infant-sized furniture, and easy access to a specially designed outdoor play area. With a low child to adult ratio, the Nido will have three assistants in each classroom and a trained Montessori guide overseeing and directing both environments.

Originally designed for working parents, the Nido carefully replicates a loving, nurturing and supportive home environment. However, parent-child interaction on-site is encouraged and enhances the Nido experience. Parents are welcome to attend when they are available and nursing mothers are provided with private space to nurse or express on-site.

In addition to private nursing space, the Nido program provides purified water for formula-fed infants. There are on-site laundry facilities and cloth diapers are encouraged. Storage space is plentiful and parents will enjoy assigned storage cubbies and car seat storage available as needed.

On-site Features:

  • Bassinets (pre-crawling infants)
  • Beds (crawlers and early walkers)
  • Private Nursing/Expressing Space
  • On-site Laundry
  • Purified Water
  • Car Seat Storage
  • Diaper Bag and Supply Cubby
  • Shoe Cubbies and Slipper Storage
  • Yoga and/or Parent-Child Yoga (1x/week)

We invite you to schedule a visit to discover this truly unique, authentic Montessori infant day care environment that will bring you and your baby peace of mind.
